Meet our team
Our staff are 100% dedicated to nurturing and educating children through their early formative years. The children at Staverton attend a 5 day fortnight, 8.30am – 2.35pm in compliance with the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme (QKFS) requirements of 15 hours attendance by children per week.
Staverton is staffed by highly qualified Early Childhood Educators who also hold current first-aid certificates and Blue Cards. All of our teachers are approved Kindergarten Program Providers (KPP).
Each teacher is assisted by one educator in the classroom to support the teacher and the children in the daily program. Additional needs educators are employed when required to support a child and or class.

Hi! I love travelling and going on adventures with my two teenagers, husband and our dog Willow. I send my family crazy with my singing and trying to learn how to play the guitar. The beach is my calm place and I love trying new things as long as it doesn’t involve me cooking!
I love being part of the amazing Staverton team and working with such passionate educators and staff. I also love getting to know the families that help to make our beautiful Staverton community.

Hi!
I like to go for a jog on bush tracks in the evening after work. My favourite holiday activity is a rainforest hike. I also enjoy growing things - my family calls me a green thumb and I have a garden full of vegetables.
At Staverton each year, I like best of all to welcome new families - to give them a feeling of belonging to the fabulous Staverton community.

Hi!
I love to use my hands creatively and am sometimes called “Bob the Builder” at Staverton as I am often called to fix things! My relaxation hours are spent playing tennis and taking my mini schnauzer “Angus” for walks. I can spend many hours in my garden and watching my native bees.
The warmth and community spirit of Staverton is unique and I feel lucky to be apart of it and contribute to its continuing goals to exceed.

Hi!
I have been working in the early childhood sector for 11 years, since relocating from Brazil. I like to introduce my culture in activities with the children. I love watching the children grow, learn, explore and develop socially. I have a son and daughter in primary school and one of our favourite things to do on weekends is stay at the beach. In my spare time I enjoy running, swimming and riding and training for events with a group of friends.
I am excited to be working at Staverton and looking forward to meeting the new families.

These are my top favourite things in no particular order!
1. My beautiful, loud, busy family.

Hi!
I LOVE to shop. But I am exceptionally good at online shopping!!
My favourite place to be is anywhere on a beach enjoying the sun and salt water.
I love listening to music. Especially ones from when I was in school, but my children think it’s so daggy.
I am lucky to be part of the Staverton Kindy team. I love meeting new families and their children each year and it’s exciting when we get to see their younger siblings come to kindy when they are older enough.

I am happiest when out and exploring in nature - including the forests, beaches and mountains with friends and family. Growing up in Northern NSW I explored many bush tracks and grew to love the environments and build a passion for sustainability.
In my spare time I enjoy being creative with sewing, cooking, photography and drawing. I love listening to all types of music and believe a great song can start a great day ahead.
I am very excited to be joining the team at Staverton and meeting all the families and children.
Maeve Toombes

Hi, I’m Maeve!
I play piano and guitar, and like to listen to music in my free time. Over the holidays, I love to spend time with my family and friends in Toowoomba and go hiking, cook, watch movies and play board games. I’m a big Brisbane Bronco’s fan, so if you want to chat about NRL – I’m eager!
I am super excited to be working with the Staverton team to connect with families, and support children to flourish, learn and play.
